What we do

Public safety radio coverage inside buildings is a code requirement, and every AHJ reads it a little differently. We close the gap between the design on paper and the plan your jurisdiction will approve.

ERCES design review

Detailed iBwave plan reviews covering link budget validation, heat map analysis, donor selection, system gain, and coverage predictions.

AHJ code compliance

Checks against IFC Section 510, NFPA 1221, NFPA 72 and local amendments, including the jurisdiction's own coverage and testing criteria.

Designer direction

Clear, written comments and redlines for your system designers, with the technical reasoning, so revisions come back correct the first time.

PE-sealed documentation

Review letters and engineering documentation signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the project's state.

Public safety

Radio coverage that responders can rely on inside the buildings their communities depend on.

School public safety

Over 46 schools with certified ERCES designs, covering stairwells, gyms, and basements where every second of radio contact counts.

Fire and rescue

Systems built so firefighters can communicate from the fire floor to the command post.

Hospitals

Certified ERCES designs for hospitals and medical centers, with uninterrupted responder coverage through patient floors, imaging suites, and mechanical spaces.

Commercial buildings

High-rises, garages, warehouses, and malls: large structures where signal has to reach responders everywhere.

Police and corrections

Certified designs for police departments and jails, where heavy construction and secure areas make radio coverage difficult.

Airports

Terminals, concourses, and support buildings, where large and complex structures need coverage wherever responders work.

How a review works

A short, predictable path from submitted design to approved plan.

  1. Send the project

Share the plans, RF design, and the AHJ's requirements for the building.

  2. Engineering review

We check the design against the governing codes and RF engineering practice.

  3. Direction to designers

You receive specific comments and required changes, and we work with your designers until they are resolved.

  4. Sealed deliverable

Once the design complies, we issue the PE-sealed documentation for submittal.

Engineering that speaks AHJ

Coral Engineering LLC is led by Reinaldo J. Cordero, PE, a Professional Engineer with more than 27 years of RF engineering experience from the Naval Surface Warfare Center to Sprint, Clearwire, T-Mobile, Ericsson and Nokia.

That network and carrier background, combined with more than 100 ERCES projects actively reviewed, shapes how every design is evaluated: from RF fundamentals first, then against the code.

Reinaldo holds a BSEE from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and an MBA from Purdue University Global, and works in English and Spanish.

The work is simple to describe: review the ERCES design, find what will not satisfy the code or the AHJ, and direct the designer to fix it. Owners, contractors, and integrators get fewer rejected submittals and fewer surprises at acceptance testing.
